This Friday: Entrepreneurial Compensation Webcasts

The annual Compensation Reports that are produced using the data from our “CompStudy” entrepreneurship survey are being unveiled this Friday, November 7, during the third annual Compensation Webcast. (The survey data also serves as one of the backbones of the research described in this blog.) The sponsors of the survey, Ernst & Young, WilmerHale, and J. Robert Scott, will walk through some of the core data charts and discuss current issues in compensation design.

As in past years, there will be separate sessions for the IT Compensation Report and for the Life Sciences Compensation Report. Below are excerpts from the blurb that Ernst & Young sent out as part of its “Thought Center” series, with details on the contents and how to register.

If you didn’t participate in a survey but want to see the abridged version of either of the new Comp Reports, you can download the abridged IT Report here and the abridged Life Sciences Report here.

Is your current executive compensation package designed to attract, reward and retain key executives? Do you ever wonder how it compares to the industry standard or your competitors’ packages? What may be the impact of the current credit and capital market changes on compensation?

Join us on 7 November, as a distinguished panel including representatives from Ernst & Young, WilmerHale and J. Robert Scott discuss the survey findings as well as other timely topics related to the market and legal and tax issues involving executive compensation. The panel will review the correlation between executive compensation and a number of variables, including financing stage, company size in terms of revenue and headcount, founder/non-founder status, industry segment and geography.

These webcasts are relevant to CEOs, CFOs, HR executives, investors and board compensation committee members of venture-backed companies, as they prepare for 2009 executive remuneration changes. Please note the information is drawn from venture capital-backed companies, but also will be of interest to private equity-backed companies and other businesses.

For more information on these webcasts, please contact Bryan Pearce, Ernst & Young LLP Northeast Strategic Growth Markets Leader at [email protected].

  1. Noam,I’ve enjoyed your research and work for a while now. I’m part of the original team that built the first and still largest student-run venture fund in the world. Our investments resulted in a couple of billion dollar IPOs and we’re very interested in how your work affects what we do. Could you please get in contact with me? I’d like you to be a lightly involved advisor on one of our new projects. My email is allan (at) allantyoung (dot) com. Thanks.
